According to The Mirror, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has given manager Jose Mourinho the go-signal to acquire three more players.
The decision came following the Blues stunning 3-0 defeat from Manchester City. The Russian businessman is reportedly ready to shell out additional funds, should Mourinho need it for the additional players.
Defender John Stones of Everton is said to be at the top of The Blues coach's list together with a central midfielder and a new attacker.
Mourinho had a couple of bids for Stones already. However, both have been rejected after failing to meet Everton's reported valuation of £34 million.
Chelsea recently nabbed defender Abdul Rahman Baba from the Bundesliga side Augsburg for £21.7 million.
