After a recent announcement from Bayern Munich that a deal has been agreed upon, Manchester United have confirmed the arrival of Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The Red Devils are believed to have acquired the midfielder on a three-year deal worth around £14m.
Schweinsteiger has been with the German giants since 2001, having won eight Bundesliga titles, seven DFB-Pokal, a Champions League and a FIFA Club World Cup title with them. He also received different individual accolades like UEFA Best Player in Europe Award and Footballer of the Year in Germany during his stay with the Bavarians.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Bayern Munich, it has been an incredible journey and I didn't take the decision to leave lightly," Schweinsteiger is quoted by the club's official website.
"Manchester United is the only club that I would have left Munich for. I feel ready for this new and exciting challenge in what I regard as the most competitive league in the world and I am looking forward to working with Louis van Gaal again.
"I will never forget my time at Bayern Munich and I would like to thank everyone at the club and the fans for the great memories."
The 30-year-old will be reuniting with his former coach Louis van Gaal, who managed Bayern for two years.
