According to TMZ, former WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz was arrested during the Kenny Chesney concert in Pasadena, California over the weekend. The boxer was reportedly caught for assault with a deadly weapon.
The 28-year-old Kansas-native is said to be attending the concert of country singers Chesney and Jason Aldean with his brother at the Rose Bowl when they suddenly got involved in a verbal argument with another man.
The argument later escalated wherein the unnamed man was at one point on the ground and was allegedly kicked by Ortiz. The law enforcers booked Ortiz and his brother on charges of felony assault with a deadly weapon. The weapon was identified as Ortiz's foot as reported by TMZ.
Ortiz who lost his title to Floyd Mayweather in 2011 was released on $30,000 bail, and has not yet commented on the incident. He also participated in the sixteenth season of ABC's Dancing with the Stars and appeared in the movie Southpaw.
