Valencia have officially confirmed the appointment of Phil Neville as Nuno Espirito Santo's assistant coach to replace Ian Cathro who is now with the Newcastle United.
The 38-year-old former footballer started his coaching career in 2012, filling for Stuart Pearce in the England under-21s. In 2013, he joined former Everton manager David Moyes in Manchester United as the club's first-team coach. The following year, Neville was sacked when Louis van Gaal took over at the Old Trafford.
Los Che are pleased to welcome Neville at Mestalla and are looking forward to what he could bring to the squad.
"Valencia are pleased to announce the appointment of Phil Neville as assistant manager of the first team, joining the coaching staff headed by Nuno Espírito Santo. Neville offers a wealth of footballing knowledge to a club in constant growth."
Nuno who will now be working alongside Neville has only good things to say about the Brit as quoted by the club's website.
“Phil Neville has great experience at the top level of competition but above all he has knowledge and values that fit perfectly with our team and our club. He has always been a team player, and our philosophy is based on teamwork. We are – and want to continue to be – a group. I am convinced he is going to help us a lot.”
