After qualifying behind his Mercedes teammate, Nico Rosberg overtook Lewis Hamilton to take the Austrian Grand Prix.
The German racing driver, had a rapid start, instantly pulling away from Hamilton in the first turn. From then on he dominated the race and not once let go of the control of the pace.
Current Formula One World Champion leader, Hamilton had a hard time, slipping almost four seconds behind at one stage. If his struggle wasn't enough, he was even given a five-second post-race time penalty for crossing the white line on the pit-lane exit.
After the race, there was not doubt that 29-year-old Rosberg edged Hamilton with a total of 8.8 seconds difference.
"It’s an awesome feeling. The start made the race. It was a great start. I pushed flat out this time." the victor who gained precious 25 points said after the event.
Felipe Massa and Sebastian Vettel nabbed the third and fourth place respectively for Scuderia Ferrari.
