Former Jordan national team manager Ray Wilkins is set to take a coaching position at Aston Villa ahead of the new season.
The 58-year-old erstwhile football player used to manage Queens Park Rangers and Fulham. He was also Chelsea 'caretaker' in 2000 and 2009.
In an interview with the Sky Sports News, Wilkins confirmed that he will be Tim Sherwood's assistant manager. He is looking forward to share his knowledge and experience to help the Lions improve their performance and eventually their fortunes in the next term.
"Tim is similar to me in that he wants to win and is pretty bubbly," the British said.
"As soon as I spoke to him it seemed to click.
"I've been very fortunate over my coaching career to be involved with lots of managers of a very high level. Hopefully I can give the lads at Villa that experience."
The Villa Park side had a disappointing 2014-15 campaign as they've finished in the 17th place of the EPL ladder and suffered a huge loss to Arsenal in the FA Cup.
