Just over a week since he resigned as Empoli's head coach, Maurizio Sarri was introduced as Napoli's new manager. He will be succeeding Rafael Benitez, who recently accepted a deal at the Spanish outfit, Real Madrid.
The Ciucciarelli announced this development through their official Twitter account.
"Napoli can announce that the post of head coach for the 2015-16 season will be filled by Maurizio Sarri."
After spending 24 years in the lower division of the Italian football, Sarri took Empoli up from Serie B and guided them to a 15th-place finish.
Reports suggested that Sarri's contract includes an option of a second term which can only be decided by the club. The 56-year old Naples native will start his coaching duties by convincing Gonzalo Higuain to stay at the Stadio San Paolo.
