LA Clippers unveil new logo

Los Angeles Clippers new owner Steve Ballmer has started the franchise's re-branding campaign by coming up with a new logo.

Last Wednesday, on a "Conan" episode the former Microsoft CEO unveiled Clippers' new emblem. This may be a part of the team's resurgence, trying to emerge from the shadow of the other LA team, the Lakers.

The American businessman who has made the headlines a lot of times this season for his comical courtside antics had also took fans "behind the scenes" with a video on the comedy website Funny or Die, which shows the players dismissing his ideas before Blake Griffin "designed" the logo himself.

Many fans have shown great disapproval to the new development. Even some sports commentators and analyst have expressed their displeasure about the new logo. When ESPN asked him about the negative reactions pertaining to the logo, Ballmer said that it didn't bother him at all.

“Many people really don’t like change in this world, they really don’t,” Ballmer said. “If we changed the user interface on a software product, people didn’t like it. Some people do but the people that are set and comfortable don’t like it. 

"I know when newspapers change their formats, it takes getting used to and this will take some getting used to for people who really liked where we were. The overwhelming sentiment from the people who communicated with me initially was change," he added.

"I’m glad we did what we did and I don’t expect to do it every year.”
