David Alaba to remain at Bayern Munich

Austrian footballer David Alaba insisted that he isn't going anywhere this summer. He claimed that he won't be leaving Bayern Munich soon, even after spending seven years of his career with the German giants.

"That's not an issue. I am under contract at Bayern until 2018. The last year with the two injuries wasn't that nice. I now want to attack again," he told Austrian newspaper Kurier.

Last March, the 22-year old was rumored to make a move to La Liga's Real Madrid. Both Alaba and his father downplayed the issue at the time, but shortly after the former suffered his second knee injury of the season. He missed major parts of the 2014-2015 Bundesliga after suffering a torn medial collateral ligament in his knee in late March. He previously sustained a partially torn ligament in his right knee in November 2014.

Asked if he consider switching clubs in the future, the midfielder said, "Deep inside me, there are certainly clubs I might imagine playing for one day, but I'm not worrying myself with such things.

"Even after seven years at Munich, I still feel great there and want to achieve a lot of things with Bayern."

The 2008 Bayern signee is expected to fully participate with the club's preseason preparations on July 1.
