Manchester City and Manchester United are once again facing each other, but this time off the pitch. Both clubs are neck and neck in bidding for Valencia's Nicolas Otamendi this summer.
The Argentine is in demand after an impressive La Liga season. He scored the game-winning goal on January in Los Che's 2-1 victory over Real Madrid, ending the Los Blancos 22-game winning streak.
The defender reportedly have met with City's manager Manuel Pellegrini at Argentina's Copa America training base. The 27-year-old is currently playing for Argentina in the South American tournament in Chile.
Otamendi insisted that at the moment he is focused on the Copa America, but affirmed that his agent was ‘100% speaking for him’ when he aired that he wanted to leave Nuno Espirito Santo's side.
City and United have to provide for a €50m buyout clause before gaining the services of Otamendi. Valencia have already rejected a €35m bid from the latter.
