Bryce Harper set a new all-time single-season National League

Washington Nationals right fielder Bryce Harper has set a new all-time single-season National League voting record in the latest All-Star balloting update.



Harper now has 9,224,370 votes and counting, surpassing the previous mark of 7,621,370 set by San Francisco's Buster Posey in 2012.

Posey has received 6,510,231 total votes while extending his lead at catcher over six-time All-Star Yadier Molina of the Cardinals (5,251,040).

Meanwhile Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton has moved into second place. Matt Holliday of the Cardinals, who has received 4,716,941 votes, holds the third outfield slot.

At third base, Matt Carpenter of the Cardinals continues to lead with 5,504,534 votes, while Todd Frazier of the host Cincinnati Reds has moved into second place with 4,308,446 votes.

Joining Carpenter cardinals teammate Jhonny Peralta, who has received 5,864,485 votes to remain ahead of San Francisco's Brandon Crawford (3,688,042).

Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt and Marlins second baseman Dee Gordon continue to lead at their respective positions.

This year's All-Star Game will take place July 14 at Cincinnati's Great American Ball Park.
